A court ordered the clinic
You deliver the certificate yourself.
Your order will say so, sometimes as a condition of a reduced charge or a dismissed ticket. You bring us the paperwork, you take the course, and you deliver the certificate to the court yourself. We do not send it to the court for you, because courts want it from you.
Before you register, call your court and ask two things: do they accept an online driver improvement clinic, and what is your deadline. Most Virginia courts accept online. Not all of them do, and it is your responsibility to confirm.

You have 90 days, and nothing to mail.
That happens when you reach 12 demerit points in 12 months, or 18 in 24 months. The letter gives you 90 days.
If you are 18 or older, you earn safe driving points for it. If you are under 18, you do not.
You do not have to mail anything. We report your completion to the DMV electronically. Keep your certificate for your own records.
What my letter means →Your license is suspended
Take it as early in the suspension as you can.
At 18 demerit points in 12 months, or 24 in 24 months, Virginia suspends for 90 days and requires the clinic before your driving privilege is restored. After it comes back, you are on probation for six months.
Take the clinic as early in the suspension as you can. The DMV posting is not instant, and you do not want the course to be the thing standing between you and your license on day 91.
You are 18 or 19, or under 18
The rules are stricter.
At 18 or 19, any demerit point conviction requires the clinic. Under 18, your first violation requires it, a second means a 90-day suspension, and a third means revocation until you turn 18.

Eight short chapters, a quiz after each one, then the final exam. Read a chapter at lunch and another after dinner if that suits you better than one long sitting.

About safe driving points and insurance
Two things people get wrong.
Safe driving points
Up to 5, once every 24 months.
Finishing the clinic can add up to 5 to your record, once every 24 months. If a court sent you, you get them only if your order says so and you give us the paperwork. If the DMV sent you and you are under 18, you do not get them.
Insurance
If you were sent here, you are not eligible.
If a court or the DMV sent you, you are not eligible for the insurance discount. Virginia law is explicit about that. The discount exists for drivers 54 and younger who take the clinic voluntarily, and even then it is the insurer’s decision, not a requirement.
If you want the discount later, you can take the course again on your own after your required one.

Will my court accept an online clinic?
Most Virginia courts do. Some do not. Call your court and ask before you pay. This one is on you to confirm and it takes two minutes.
Do you send my certificate to the court?
No. Courts want it from you. We send it to you within 24 hours and you deliver it.
Do you send my completion to the DMV?
Yes, electronically, the same day you finish.
How long until the DMV shows it?
Usually 7 to 10 business days.
Will this dismiss my ticket?
That depends entirely on what your court agreed to. The course does what your order says it does. We cannot promise a dismissal and neither can anyone else selling you a course.
Will this remove points?
No. It can add up to 5 safe driving points, which count in your favor. The conviction itself stays for the years Virginia says it stays.
I missed my deadline. What now?
Call your court or the DMV, whichever set it. They will tell you where you stand. Taking the course anyway is usually the right move, but get the answer from them first.
How long is the course?
8 hours, which Virginia requires and enforces with a timer.
What if I fail the exam?
Retake it the next business day.
